just a note...it is possible to make 60 mph just after hitting 2nd gear
well, let me qualify that a little; after a few tweaks and mod's it will do that

Only a few?
I've hit 60 in 3rd on my almost stock ride, when merging with fast traffic, and she's starting to scream pretty good with that more open exhaust.

The bike has a constant mesh tranny so as long as you left off the gas a bit you didn't do much if any damamge. Matter of fact, it's a good skill to learn.
If you haven't already, take the safety course!!!!!
