I was working on my '97 today. I've only had it a couple months, and this is the first time I have taken a close look at the carb.  There are  a pair of tubes coming out of it, one on each side.  The one on the right side seems to go into the air cleaner, the one one the left just goes into the the area under the right cover, and does not connect to anything.  Is it supposed to?

float bowl needs air, gravity fed no fuel pump
tubes belong up the frame rails under the tank
just dont tell the epa!! all those fumes going into our air!!!
