dr650 engined savage!?

hey anyone thought about using a suzuki dr650 engine in the savage as they have more hp as standard! + probally a stronger engine!?

I have thought about it but would really like a dr 650 engine with a Savage crankshaft in my Dr650.
If it could be done it would give over 800cc.

I just did a calc of using a Savage crank in the DR and with the larger 97mm piston, and the total is 694.64cc with a compression boost from the stock 9.7 to 10.5

How did you calc the 800cc setup ?

The late model Dr650 engines are a very shot stroke with a 105mm piston.  Spin that on a Savage crank and let your eyes bugg out at your calculator.

just did the 105 bore x 94 stroke = 814cc

yep, that would be quite the bump every time it came around

If it held up...you'd have to wear a mouth gaurd or say adios to your teeth i would imagine.

keep in mind that Suzuki does make the DR800 for the gang in Europe ...
does anyone know if Suzuki makes a big piston kit for the DR800 ? ?
