New Headlight bucket and Headlight. (with pics)
02/13/10 at 15:26:52

Just got back from ordering a new headlight bucket and headlight for the FireLizard. My old bucket is so cracked and broken that I was afraid I would lose my headlight on my way to work tonight. But since I had to order it it won't be in for a few days so for now people will definitely think the FireLizard is an old Harley because the headlight is being held on by duck tape.

Hell, if the mythbusters can prove that duck tape can hold up a car, I reckon it's good enough to hold my headlight on until my new one arrives.

The new one I ordered by the way is metal, not the plastic piece of crap that came stock on the Savage.

Later I'll take pictures of it before and after the new headlight.

It's a Harley bucket that will actually fit my Girder front end. Ordered it from my local Harley shop. The head of the parts department likes how I am not afraid to modify and gave me a break on the shipping.

Got my new headlight and bucket in today. Just got back from picking it up. Drag Specialties Halogen headlight. I will finally get to see further than twenty feet ahead of me. Now to just figure out how to wire the booger up.

I see you used metric tape with it being a metric bike.  Standard tape wouldn't work as well.  Too loose.

DJ, where do I find this "metric tape"?  I have been using the standard tape and you are correct, it just doesn't work as well.  Wink

Actually no, The way I had it it actually acted like rudders. Made for some interesting handling when I would take a curve at speed.

Sounds exciting, and not in the good way. Shocked  Duct tape has it's time and place; holding safety related equipment on/together probably isn't one of them.  Glad you're getting the new one.
