mixture screw
02/11/10 at 13:23:53

Hi all, If any of you have read my last entry under "CARB JETTING" you will know Im having trouble. It looks like the mixture screw I have in my carb isn't the original but one that just happened to fit. There is no deference in the idle wether its all the way in or completely removed. Has anyone got a mixture screw with washer spring and o ring for sale? its a 94 bike. I dont want to buy the hole carb. are these available as replacement parts? or is there a readily available alternative carb?
Cheers
Paul

Are you SURE your bike is a 94?  Huh I know there was a stretch of years that the Savage was not available in the US. Looking at the parts available on BikeBandit for the Savage it looks like those years in question were 1989-1994 that no Savages were produced for the US.  Undecided

BTW, My bike is a 2005 and the VIN is 17#s long (JS1NP41A*********) but starts with the same stretch of numbers.

The registrationcertificate has the vin on it as stated which maches the bike. Date of registration is 02-Aug-94 so its quite possible its a 93 model. Also there is no number on the carb that I can see Embarrassed

You don't have your location in your profile ( even a simple country).

If you're in Europe, it's a '94.

If you're in the USA, More likely a '95 if manufactured Aug 94.

A while back we when thru a VIN number thread and there is no good decoder ring to figure out the year from it.
