CLUTCH CABLE

Just got back from a pretty long ride through the mountains here and noticed it was getting harder and harder to change gears. When I pulled into the house, I took a look and noticed the clutch cable was hanging on by one of the several strands that make the cable. Can you tell me if there is a way to attach the cables again or do I need to replace the whole cable?

BTW - the gravel they use here when the roads ice make it worse than driving on a dirt road.

Tie/tape a string to the old, pull the cable out while pulling the string into it's place. Tie the new cable to the string, pull it back in. No need to remove anything. (unless the little bend over keeper-in-position tabs are too tight -- but it's worth a try!)

Rubberband a ziplock baggie to the top ends and put in some oil. Tie them up and let the oil run down the inside of the cables. It really does make a difference.

You use the Right oil & it'll FIX them little busted wires in the cable & it'll be Good as NEW.
