I believe, if it is a Savage and not an S40, it has a two piece seat. Just remove the rear seat and figure out something to cover up the hole it left. If it is an S40, the single seat from a Savage might fit. No doubt someone on here knows for sure. If you are looking for some sort of custom seat, I can't help because I am happy enough with the stock one.

I have put the rectifier in the air box in my chopper.
Pics here.

I also made a seat with a small skirt in the underside to cover up the part under the seat that was visible in the bike.

Cool.

Depending on how fast you want to do yours...
I'm working on a new seat for mine.  Paladin is sending me his stock Savage front seat, and I'll know when I receive it if it will work on an S40.  (Mine's an '06).  I'm not trying to go solo, but I've also been told that a Savage rear seat might NOT work.  I don't have a rear seat yet either (I realize that part doesn't matter to you) but I'm still looking for one.

I also have a Mustang Sportster seat on its way to me, that I just bought on Ebay.  I doubt that the pan will fit right, or that it will clear the rectifier, but I'm thinking that I might be able to remove the cover and stuffing from the Mustang seat and transfer to my stock seat.  If not, I'm going to do something with the seat Paladin is sending me.

My point is... I don't know if I'll need his seat or not, so it might be available if I don't end up needing it.  He did say his cover has a rip or two, which didn't concern me because I will re-cover it anyway.  So... when I get everything in and start working on it, I'll be posting pics, so be on the lookout.

Oh, sorry, I can't help you with the rectifier, but many have moved theirs and should chime in...

Quickest way is to tell the pillion rider to get off.
Rectifiers seldom need the air replaced.

From what i remember (not much) The sissy bar is easily removed with two bolts, or you could take all the chrome off two with a removal of a few more nuts and bolts. keep in mind your turn sigs.

I just put my rectifier in the airbox and let it hang there. It's wedged in there pretty good, so I didn't worry about mounting or anything.

Good question!

I read people stashing it in airbox like you mention, i never did that or have seen it so i dont know.

For giggles i took the rear pillion all the chrome off, and it looked pretty good, i left the rectifier in place becasue i didnt know where else to stash it. A few days later i put everything back together to get ready nasty weather that never came through...

As for the seat, i think i read people getting it fit with no or only minor modification, dont know never been there.

Maybe you can raise your set a few inches and put in under that? good luck

Not mounted in the air box.
Just put in there. Unplug it and stuff the wiring through it, then Get it through the door and plug in the rectifier and then push it back into the air box. Done, install the door. Yea make sure its not hitting the filter, though mine was and had to fiddle the filter later. But of course mine is a foam filter that has been inserted in the stock filter frame. Stock paper one will be cool. No problem.

Cool.
Srinath.

Don't, it is much better to bar the sissys from your bike.
