Hi all,

Question for those who have installed a Jardine muffler on their bike. I bought a used one off of e-bay and am trying to install it. After cleaning up the blue from the previous owner and than fighting with a stripped and stuck screw when taking the stock muffler off , I realized the Jardine arrived without the two bolts that attach to the mounting tabs. Do any of you know the size, length, type of bolts they are??? I can't wait to get this on. I already pulled the brass cap to adjust the air/fuel and plan to re-jet soon.

PS Thanks for having such a great forum. I've been lurking and learning since May when I brought my 09 S40 home.

Just carry it to the hardware store and find bolts that fit.  No biggie.  If you are unsure of the perfect length then get 2 or 3 sets of different lengths so you can test-fit when you get back.

Hey guys, thanks for your suggestions. I spoke with the customer service rep at Jardine who gave me the correct bolt size and was very friendly and helpful, even faxed me the installation instructions. For those that would like to know, it's a Hex Head Bolt, 3/8-16x3/4 and a 3/8 split lock washer.

More questions  
I installed the Jardine but I now have a leak where the muffler joins the head pipe. It's like a puff of exhaust every half second.

1. Should I try and remove the gasket that's in the stock muffler (how is that done without it falling apart)?
2. Should I buy some exhaust sealant (any certain kind)?
3. I used both the Jardine T-bolt clamp and the stock clamp, is that okay?
4. Any other ideas?
5. Ok, last question. Once this is fixed I'd like to purchase Lancers re-jet kit, is there a link I can find it through?

For the few seconds I had it started it sounded pretty awesome!
