I just pulled my battery for the winter and discovered that my battery is a sealed, maintenance free type and is leakproof and spillproof. It comes fully charged ready to install. It charges with 1.5 amps then goes into float mode after the battery is charged. I probably wouldn't leave it on all winter. Thanks

I let it float all winter. The bike was in a shed in upstate NY and she started right up in the spring. I did start her 2 or 3 times throughout the winter.

I have 2 of the same type batteries in my 24v B&D mower, only they are 18 amp hr. 6 months ago I replaced the original ones at 8 yrs old. The original 24v charger gave up after only a year, so the last 7 yrs they have been charged w. a Schumacher 1.5 amp 2 stage charger, floating at 13.2v. I charge them thru a series/parallel switch to charge at 12 volts. And it stays on continously. It is the same charger at WM and at Sears w/ the Diehard name on it.
