one of my karate bros just got his license and is in the market....we just went and looked @ an 883 sportster. it's a '99 with about 9000 on it. silver with a couple of upgrades. it also had a softail rear fender on it. it was nice, sounded good.
BUT my savage is WAAAAAY louder, and the sportster isn't that much bigger or heavier then what we have. i hope he gets it, he needs a bike so he can ride with us. there is i believe 4 of us who have bikes and are brown belts. a vulcan 900, kawasaki concours 1000, one dude has a family full of choppers then me!! lol i kinda like being the one when they are all parked and someone goes "what's that one right there?" lol!!

The savage is way louder ?? Does one or the other have a malfunction?
He must not like the savage,....as he could probably have a new Bullie for the price of a used older Sportie ?

The sporty is way heavier in a top heavy kind of way. As 1st bike a Savage is better choice. How big is the guy?

the 883 had a very low grumble, while mine is the debaffled sporty muffler lol
and he likes the m50 but it's a little pricey. and he's about 2inches taller then me so 5'8" and about 190ish....so the sporty fit him good.
it did feel heavy up top....like the tank itself weighed a ton...weird!!!!
