Wiseco piston
10/18/09 at 21:16:36
When going overbore with a wiseco piston should I replace the piston pin with the wiseco version as well or will the stock one work? I assume it doesnt matter if i used the stock one but I just wanted to double check.

thats weird. Looking on their website they're all listed seperately...along with the wrong bore/stroke info...but now I know. Thanks much

All donations can be sent to my email address via paypal.
I'd appreciate it if you keep your own tally and send when you got enough for a 6pack.

Is that the biggest size we can go or can we get the 9600 or 9700?

97s the biggest. Put you almost to 700cc. But a 95mm will put you at 666cc (665.95 but whatever). How savage is that?

The Wiseco piston pin is shorter than the stock one. Use the wiseco pin with the wiseco piston.
Weight the stock piston and pin together and weigh the Wiseco piston and pin.
Compare weights and tell me what you found.

Has anyone checked to see if you can get a gapless top ring set for this piston? I've used them in an Opel GT race motor that turned 8300 rpm & leakdown tests showed only 2-3% loss over close to 3 seasons of racing. The oil will stay clean a lot longer due to less contaniments getting past the rings into the crankcase. They are worth the money in my opinion.

im very aware that the wiseco pistons are much lighter. I havent seen anyone complain seriously about it though. And im wary of adding more counterweight lest it end up flying through the case as was your misfortune. I will weigh them if I remember. Im not planning to do all this until next fall/winter . Im just gathering info and prices for the time being.
