i am thinking of buying 2008 savage and just checked it, headlight does not have on off switch?? also when i reduce accelerator i hear some noise as if it is breaking. is this something normal in savage? what else one should look for while buying savage?

your help will be highly appreciated

no off switch correct

do you mean gear whine or metal grinding?

I suspect the "noise as if breaking" might be the normal popping and crackling of the exhaust. Our infamous "backfire."

The epa mandates a lean adjustment on the carb.
this adjustment runs great in denver
can be adjusted, but don't ask the dealer to do it, he can't
we have instructions in the tect section.

most people don't complain, they "comment" affectionally.
It grows on you.   Grin

9300km=5766 miles...

Hmmm...some folks here recommend a valve adjustment at 4000 miles.
That could be good bargaining info for you, if it hasn't been done...

Does the PO (previous owner) have maintenance records?

What is the price of the bike?...check the NADA and Kelley Blue Book values on the bike:

Since the eighties, all "new" bikes sold in the US have to have headlight on all the time (expect at start up).
