???   Are you talking about the empty light that use to be the side-stand light on the early year bikes??

Also .. I think the 88 or 89 wiring diagram called it the oil light , but the bike never had a oil pressure sensor.   Pretty hard to get a pressure switch to sense the 2 to 4 PSIG the bike has at idle.....

Why would you want your horn to know you were "beeping" someone?

Mmm, dunno what is used to be but it's to the right of the one that tells you are in neutral.   Smiley

AFAIK it doesn't do anything on my '07.  Undecided

Yep,  that use to be a side stand (kickstand) down light.   I guess Suzuki thought "DUH", side stand down, put it in gear and it turns off, DUH.   Cost saving deletion....

What would you like to put in there???

An oil pressure light (low oil press) would be nice, but the bike is a low pressure bike.  A 3000 RPM the spec says 7 to 10 psig.   That translates to about 2-4 psig at idle.  Most easily available oil press sensors don't go that low.  So everytime you come to a stop sign or wait at a light,  the oil light would come on.  That would be annoying......

Might be nice to figure out a way to put a LOW FUEL light in there, that would light up and warn you to go to RESERVE before the engine dies in traffic.

Charon,
WOW,  great minds think a like.  Cool  I had that typed in but though I was already typing too much.   backspced it out.

Yea, low fuel would be great, but hard to do.   Maybe an over temp light would be a easy one to do...... but what is the max temp?

My '83 Suzuki 650 Tempter had a digital gear indicator, but it required a switch set in the transmission (probably on the shift star wheel) to make it work.

It probably wouldn't be too difficult to add a "brake light ON" indicator. That might give warning that your brake light was on, should you be one of the people who sometimes rest your right foot on the pedal while riding.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.
