Need Footpegs....
09/27/09 at 19:44:06

Ok so the inevitable happened.  I laid over my bike....in my driveway!  I felt like such an idiot....good thing was that other than bending the left foot peg there was no damage to the bike....so now that a few weeks have gone by, the stupid foot peg broke.  I'm looking to replace them now but the motorcycle shops here tell me there are no aftermarket pegs that will just mount right up....any ideas?  I can't afford the 80 bucks they want for the one foot peg from the factory but could afford to replace both if i could find some cheap aftermarket parts....Please help.

You do not need the whole thing, just get the broken bits.

the problem with that is that every piece except the rubber is broken, and the rubber is all torn up anyways....i have looked at the diagram and they are telling me that the only thing i don't have to replace is the rubber and the screw that holds it to the bracket....all the other pieces are broken beyond repair

Wow that is wild I slid the rear end around and slammed it down on its side at thirty five and did not do that much damage.

yep, according to the picture, the guy at the shop told me i needed everything except the screw..that would be part 8...and the base...part 2...said we might be able to reuse the rubber, except that its warped from me riding it with the metal broken....am hoping to find something aftermarket though, i hate the way the stock parts look

I am going to have passenger pegs available later this week. Don't know if they will work? Only cost is postage.

Let me know.

It looks like in fig. 31 that the top one may be the passenger peg and the bottom ones the left and right driver pegs. The left driver peg has less "stuff" attached to it. The right one has a bracket, etc.

If mine needed replaced, they wouldnt get stock replacements. I dont like these pegs, not the design or the feel. Just dragging them thru corners ruins them. Once the bottom is ground away, the end cap will tilt.  The things bend too easy & need to fold easier. IN a corner its Fold or Grind, since the design compresses the rubber to fold, it means Grind,

I bought a pair of chrome Highway Hawk o-ring rider pegs for $38.00 +ship from here: http://www.betterbikeparts.com/bbp-store/bmy_search.php?prevbrand=11&in_categ...
The pegs in the link are for years: Fitment: Suzuki Savage 650 (1986 to 2002) Part #: HH-733-310
They have the hook on the end the same as ours, but it doesn't show in the picture. A little longer than stock, and more comfortable. Mine are about 1 1/2 years old and are holding up well, scrapes and all.

hey thanks for pointing this out!   I messed the rubber up and thought I would just replace it but you have made me see there are better pegs that will hold up longer.  good tip

Does anyone know why these pegs would not fit 2004 Savage? Description says 86-02.

Thanks!!

You could easily confirm fitment of any particular item...

by looking up the part number of the last year (in this case '02)

BAR, FRONT FOOTREST RH 43530-24B02

and then for the year you have...

BAR, FRONT FOOTREST RH 43530-24B02

In this case they are identical, so there should be no problem.

Note: the complete assy wasn't available for purchase, so look up the interfacing part.
