Like an idiot, this bike it the first time I ever used synthetic oil, only because it only uses 2 quarts that I could afford, and because of all the hype of a smoother clutch, runs cooler, and whatever else I can't think of right now, but mostly for the prestiege of it all, kinda like I'm better now  Grin
But the other day I bought a 3rd quart, so now I can see the oil in the site glass when on the side stand.
Twenty bucks invested in oil now ! I should have known better than to ever start this Angry

If you can see oil in the sight glass when the bike is on the sidestand, you overfilled it. Don't run it overfilled.

The way I see it is, the engine asks for so little oil.. 2 quarts? Pffft!  Just pay the lousy extra $10 per thousand miles for full synthetic.

10W40 4-stroke motorcycle oil ... used to buy "Suzuki" brand from dealer, but now just use whatever I can find on sale ... have used Castrol from Wally World and Motomaster from Crappy Tire ... no ill effects from either ... I change once every 2000km (1300mi) or so, so it doesn't matter to me what goes in the crankcase as long as it agrees with my MOM ...

Good find on the low-milage '06! Congrats and Ride Safe!

I agree with PerrydaSavage, I changed my oil at 1600 miles because it was starting to use it. I won't go over 2000 and, I have always changed my cars at 3000. Used synthetic once to try for better mileage in a pickup. Made a little difference. Just switched to Rotella T, because my friends have been using it for a long time. Just use a name brand or oil relabeled from a name brand.    Boofer

Sounds normal, everyone has trouble shifting when they 1st get it.
apply pressure in the way you want to go, let the clutch out a little and it will pop into gear.

just dont STOMP on it...

Awwwww....com on.....I can't stomp on it?  What fun are you guys?  Couldn't ride today due to heavy rain Sad but will try again as soon as the sun peeks out.  Taking my MC safety class Oct 3-4 and looking forward to getting my permit so I can ride with no worries about a ticket.  Picked up my oil, won't say what kind though, don't want to start another war and will change that tomorrow b4 work.
