The weather proofing bike post inspired this one.

So whats the best way you guys get your shoes or boots dry after they are soaked?

One thing i do that works well is pull the tounges out and place them infront on the vent on the bottom of a fridge overnight.

i use to put them in front of the return vent for the AC, didnt really work as well as i thought it would

In front of the fridge is the place to dry shoes!  I think it is the warm air from the compressor.  We've done that for years.

In the winter time I put them oriented upside down over a push vent for my forced air heat.

In the summer I generally have a box fan in a window, they go in front of it.

It takes a day to dry out a pair of soaked shoes.  Wearing them wet can damage them as leather stretches when wet, so I dry thoroughly before wearing them again.

Ah, I like the way you think! lol.

Not sure if its the humidity of sunny fl or what but i cant just let a pair air dry, after day 1.5 to 2 days they aquire a horrid funk. I must use some sort of air conditioning (heat, ac, etc)

...welcome to my world.

They sell rubber slip-on booties that go over your shoes
but i dont know how long those can possibly last since
i use my boots as a 3rd & 4th tire all the time for stopping
and such; i personally switch between 2 pairs of boots
and just leave em' in the sun for a day or two, then rotate.

wet bottom half of pants ...that's another story  Roll Eyes

As I accidently let slip the other day, I don't usually ride in the rain. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I like being comfortable. And I can't afford good rain gear right now. As for drying out stuff, the fridge is good. I use Kiwi paste wax on my boots regularly, and they are water resistant. I have always polished my shoes since high school. Snow proofing products and some silicone sprays work well, too.

Yesterday sun came out for about an hour after 10 days of rain. I took Suzi out for a great ride. You know, the ride where everything flows perfectly and curves are a real joy. I think we can all agree on that feeling, even when it's not raining.    Boofer

When your boots are wet, you are uncomfortable.
When your shoes are wet with oil you are in trouble.
