I took the plug off and I think it was gas inside. Its not shown in the manuel anywhere so I do not know if I should have left it alone. Help. Sprout

I lost that plug years ago (don't tell the EPA) and that means I'm
an environmental criminal since I now leave small drops of oil
here and there everywhere I go and that job is allready reserved

I'm not certain, but I think the other end of that hose is in the airbox, downstream of the air filter.

If this is true, it means that there is now an unfiltered leak into what should be the clean air portion of your intake.

If it "Sniffed" all that crap back up into the engine, then we'd all know for sure where the plumbing enters the air. Ill wait..

Plug it.... no matter which side of the filter, it's only inches from the ground. Lots of dust getting sucked into the air box.

My 2001 had it between engine and airfilter.

It drains the oil vapor condesnate that comes from the vent tube on top of the head. Yea, that's where they vent the crankcase. Both piston "blow-by" and the volume changes of that big piston going up & down.
