Cool!! Any chance of throwing up PDF files of the brochure and article? Wouldn't mind being able to print that stuff off!
Thanks!

But wait!  Cheesy  You also have a vibration free engine, thanks to that state of the art counterbalancer, and boy that muffler sure does have a throaty exhaust note, I can hardly stand the rumble.  And that "out of sight" cam chain tensioner.. why it makes the cam chain virtually maintenance free!  Grin Grin  Huh  I mean the only thing that could spoil this immaculate package would be if any parts were made out of <spit> plastic, yes I'm certain the headlight and turn signal shells, battery box and custom-look speedometer mount are other space age, non-plastic materials.

Stimpy - nice find. I love collecting stuff like this. I've got a couple of Savage ads but that pamphlet is cool.

Glad you'all like them.
Sorry, but from these ads this is the best quality I could find, I don't have the originals so I
cannot make .pdf's, and yup, they're hard to read allright ...but who wants to do the transcript?!  Wink

why it makes the cam chain virtually* maintenance free!

of course, as opposed to the hundreds of current models "outside the engine"
manual cam chain adjusters that make your life hell, yup, got it.

IIRC the cam chain issue was less pronounced on early models.

We all know these things are far from vibration free.

Found these on a copy of "Panamerican "Motorcycle Magazine"
from last year, it's an article covering the latinamerican relaunch
of the Boulevard S40, it reads: "let the Good Times roll"...

...keep em' coming

The 1986 ad is the one I remember after falling in love with the Savage at Expo 86 in Vancouver where one was on display.  Only took me 21 years to get around to buying one.  Which I will never sell.
