i was thinking of gettin some ammo boxes, paintin them flat black of course and screwin them into the back fender....i'm not a huge fan of traditional saddlebags but i look like a dork wearing a back pack while riding lol

would they be too heavy? i think they'd look wicked on there!

So what did you end up getting? I'm super interested in this.

Did everyone go OEM on the saddlebag supports? I tried contacting a member on here but he said he'd be a couple weeks out because he's super busy at work.

My husband and I made my supports out of stainless round rod.  It wasn't super easy, but it was "super cheaper" than buying them!  I did the measuring and told him where to bend the rod.  He bent it and then threaded both ends, made little brackets to attach to the bike, and off I go~~

I had some slim (flat) throwover bags with the strap under the seat for everyday use.  They were small enough that I was able to layer some larger touring size throwovers over them for trips when I needed more luggage capacity.
seemed like a good compromise, not too bulky for everyday and more room when I needed it

I got these for myself and the wife. Love em, just expect to be replacing them every 3-5 years when storing them outside, but then again they zip off to carry inside!

At the time this was the cheapest way to get this specific river road bags online, price is about right for most shops.

chunless I ordered the bags from Dennis Kirk. Great price. They come in today. I'm going to mount them this weekend. Look like they fit perfect and great price.

sorry about the lateness - i tried to post the pic's yesterday and just cant get it on using the attachment.

review - the saddlebags rawk!

the size is about right, 13 inches wide, and fits nice, right up close to the turn signals.

and, bike looks a little more "manly".

i have the pics on my pc but attachment not working for me. any ideas?

Upload pics to a web host such as photobucket or Bike Pics.

Copy the URL of the image and paste it between [img} [/url} but use ] not } to close

Photobucket provides links that already have the IMG code around them.

weather's clearing up here after some morning rain, so im hopping on the bike at lunch, and will get better pics.

thanks for the headsup on posting pics - and now i have photobucket working!
