high noise/rpms (Read 81 times)

danroot Junior Member Offline I love YaBB 1G - SP1! Posts: 74 Gender:	high noise/rpms 09/16/09 at 15:26:15 ok, so my bike is making some louder than usual noise and seems to be reaching higher rpms at lower speeds. what should i be looking out for?

The only way RPM can increase at any given speed in any given gear is for either the rear tire to change diameter or the clutch start slipping.
Have you changed oil type? Does the clutch lever have any slack in it?

Is it possible you are hearing a higher frequency engine noise & interpreting that as Higher RPM? Maybe its clackety valves?

Re: high noise/rpms Reply #9 - 09/16/09 at 17:04:18 I think the most common probl;em that creates that situation is the cross bolts thru the engine( peg bolts) need torqued. You had to drop the peg to do the cam chain & the exhaust.
