I had a Yamaha xt225. Takes you down all those little side roads that you just go by on a street bike, and gets 75mpg.

If I didn't have a couple of deteriorated lumbar discs and could handle the weight, a Sportster wouldn't be out of the question either ...

Heck yeah, now is a good time to buy a honda crf230L. You can get a 2008 model for around $2700 to $3000 with some goodies already installed. The price bottom fell out of the L models when Honda came out with the 230 'M' for model year 2009.. but the 230L dualsport is way more versatile. I have one partially souped up, and it hits 85mph. Cheesy

Also, it's hard to beat a DRZ400 for good value and tons of aftermarket support in a kickass bike.
