The other one is the type with stitches across.(Older seat I think) I swear the other one is wider. I'll have to measure and let ya know for sure (I like the other one better,it feels better.At least in width)

It is more expensive than the Sporty seat, but ask yourself, "Why are there so many Sporty seats available?"

I'm making one more attempt at modifying my seat myself. Corbin, or Rich's, or any of the other custom seats would be great except for the cost. Spencer's seat mods are also a very good idea at a better price.

I row and coach rowing. A rower spends hours training on a hard wood seat that is more comfortable than one hour on a stock motorcycle seat. The rower's seat has cutouts for the tail bone and sit bones.

The notch is to the rower's back for tailbone clearance.

1-3/4" holes on 6" centers are my current effort for sit-bone relief, with a big notch for the tailbone. I'm trying some high density 1/4" foam, although 3/8" might be better. All this will go under the stock vinyl, and may require the stock foam cut away. I think this, either in high density foam or gel, will be an excellent answer to the problem of pressure points. Gluing another 1/2" of foam to widen the seat on each side just where one's butt overlaps the seat is also a good idea.

The seat I mentioned is 13"-almost 13 1/8" across.(Width)

I measured it of course without sitting on it.Could be wider once sat on Undecided

Just an fyi - it took several thousand miles - say 500 hours in the Corbin before it broke in on the guzzi - before that it was a bit like setting on the floor - not sure which broken in my seat or the corbin - all day seat now however.

Sitting in a seat somewhat motionless vs. rowing, I would expect different levels of comfort to be felt.

I was over 2 hours trying to get the holes on the bracket to line up. That was Sat. afternoon. I called out to Corbin today to find out why. I told them I could take my old off in 5 minutes and put it back on in 5 minutes. The service guy I talked to give me some pointers so if anyone else buys one contact me if it doesn't fit right or call Corbin.
I asked him why they didn't put a strap on it and he said there wasn't a good place to hook it to. I told him we all like straps on ours. I had to make my on strap as I use it to secure my backpack when I go to the store. I've only ridden about 28 miles so far. It's going to take a lot of getting use to. as I had memory foam in my old one. Once you set in it you don't move. It's about 11 3/8 inchs from the seam to the front where it meets the tank. The girls won't have any problem being that close to the tank. I am 5'10" and weigh 193 and I have to have everything in place at the tank if you know what I mean. Hope this info has been some help.
