When I first got my Savage, my tailbone would start to ache after about an half an hour riding time. I tried the seat lift, but that didn't help. Then Serowbot gave me the answer. It was simple, quick, and most importantly, it worked. He suggested that I simply cut away the seat base plate under where the tailbone rides.
I got a pair of straight cut tin snips, pulled the back of the seat cover back, and cut out a piece of the base plate. Then I pulled the cover back over the seat and put it back on the bike. Total time, about ten minutes. Cost, nothing, relief priceless.

I hope this helps those of you with sore tail bones.
