Try doing your cutting with a dremel tool with cutoff wheel installed. Might have to use an unmounted hacksaw blade in the corners.

Your right JOG thats the way I did it,That seat mod of Geralds worked go for me,I liked it better,I now have a Suzuki gel seat on and going to do the same to it,I did get a dremel and with the small saw blade it should be easier to do.

Drill holes where the corners will be, then use one of those multi-tools with the narrow saw blade to cut between the holes. You can do a better job than a dremel & saw blade. I used this method to cut a w/s & make lowers for my other bike.

The dremel saw blade I have is a circler blade it only cuts 1/4 inch deep it works great for me.
