Dan - I'd second or third the "check the exhaust system, esp baffles".  Seems as though as the bike heats up, the noise reduces..that makes me think heated metal expanding and closing up tolerances..and since you and your mech know valve adjustments..the muffler connection and baffles seem the next most likely culprit. Smiley

Trippah, More and more, I think the sound comes from the muffler or from the exhaust exiting the muffler. Your idea seems very likely to cover the problem. Thanks, Dan
