hey all just got my first savage (1998), Im currently turning into a bobber and would love to run a white wall rear tire.

I can only find the maxxis 140 90-15, what would happen if i installed that on the stock frame?

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Nuttin'.,... cept' you'd have a bigger tire there,... with whitewalls.... Grin

Oh,... and your speedometer would read closer to accurate.... Wink

I have a 140/90 Dunlop on mine...

+1 on the speedo being closer to correct. I have a 140 90 and didn't have to change anything to put it on.

Check your bolts inside the rear fender for the side rails. If they have more than one washer, you may need to round the heads down some. I have a Shenko 140/90-15. I rubbed a little on the right hand side. The bolts were too long and had several washers under the heads. Proper length bolts just clear. I have 1 inch longer shocks but at 250 lbs it's probably about even with stock. The bigger tire put my cruisinf 'sweet spot' right at 70 mph. Grat for the freeway commute.
