She's ready to ride!

After a month of rubbing and polishing and scrounging parts I've got er ready. I added the Supertrapp and the Flyscreen. This bike had set outside for 2 years uncovered, but she had only 4,700 on the clock and the guy had changed the oil in her. Thats why I bought her. I knew she would clean up nicely.

Pretty! Mine also withstood a fair amount of abuse, I wish I could get my aluminum covers looking as nice as yours!

You put some elbow grease in that. Good results. Now you need a fork brace. Stock, it needs the brace. If you add power & start playing in turns, youll really feel a difference in the handling with a brace on it.

How do you clean galvanized parts like the spokes and the inside ring of the rear pulley? I tried and I cannot get them to look good.

And by the way, I got the Dunlop K555 too on the the rear, it makes the bike look real PHAT from behind   Smiley

I used Turtle Wax Chrome polish on my rims and a lot of elbow grease. The Turtle wax will not scratch the chrome. The spokes weren't that bad thank goodness. There's nothing I know of you can do to a galvanized spoke except replace them all with stainless steel which is expensive. If you start rubbing a galvanized spoke the galvanizing comes off and you really have problems then. On the engine cases I start with Semichrome polish followed by the Turtle Wax chrome polish and a lot of elbow grease. Polishing an engine case is a labor of love.

Rider - you did a great job, the bike looks really good. Superbrace also sells a nice fork brace but it's more expensive than the Tkat.

Midnightrider, I would put that one on a chain and wear it around my neck. Much too purty to ride! Good job. Boofer

Free Spirit the engine guard was on the bike when I bought it. It looks like a Suzuki engine guard so I'm assuming it is. Thanks for the compliment.

Awesome job on a Bike that was left outside and neglected for a couple of years ... she looks brand new! What year? Looks like could be an '03?
