SInce you are online, just a couple of quick ideas.

Is the kill switch on or off, that has gotten me a couple of times.

Sidestand that has gotten me too.

The only fuses I know about are under the seat, right hand side.

fuse box under right hand edge of seat.  You can pull straight back on it and the box will pull out so you can look at it.

If it's not one of the safety switches..... try unplugging and then replugging the connectors that run to the clutch and kickstand switches...
I had one lose contact once,... took me forever to figure it out...

My clutch safety switch acts up mostly when it gets wet. I just pull in the clutch and let it go. Works every time. Don't ease it out, just let it go.

There are fuses under the seat. Easy to access while the seat is on, IF you know where to look. Theres a spare in the tool box cover( hopefully).

Make sure you have ENOUGH battery if you find nothing else.  Sometimes if the battery is down enough, you won't even get a click.  Put a battery tester on it if you have one.  Jump it if you don't.

Checked the 2 20A fuses and they were fine. Did the pull clutch lever and quick release many times, nothing. Where do I chickity-check next? Lights still dim when I push start button.

Had a similar problem last year. Got stranded at night by my place of employment. Having lights kind of threw my off. I had access to a computer and posted my situation here. Had the seat off and checked the fuses/connections. Drove me crazy. Wound up being a dead battery. Called AAA and they gave me a jump which allowed me to ride home.
Quick note: Hit the horn. If it sounds weak, another point for the battery.

These bikes need a lot of juice to get them started, a dying battery won't pull it off.
If you decide to try and jump it, just make sure that the vehicle you're using is turned off. I've read that jumping a bike with a running car/truck may have negative consequences for the bikes electrical system.

You didn't tell us about the lights dimming the 1st time.
What else are you not tellin'?

Hearin' any clicks at all?
Got voltmeter?  Otherwise take battery to autozone or the like and get it tested.
Sometimes the starter switch gets dirty too.

Agree with V regarding dimming lights. Another point for the battery. If you can't wait, Pep Boys has a battery with specs for our bikes. Have to charge it overnight though.

Thanks for the responses fellas, Ima thinking battery too. It is original battery and its an '05 so maybe I should make the investment.
