Reply #4 - 08/21/09 at 11:09:00 You can always try it,... easy enough to put it back... Some say removing it gives more airflow,... some say leaving it in creates a smoother airflow to the filter... I didn't notice any difference either way,.... but I did try it for myself...

Reply #10 - 08/21/09 at 15:29:43 I had to swab some epoxy in the airbox on the ledges the filter lands on to make mine fit right. You gotta do it carefully or sand it. too tight in there for that. OHH, I modded the airbox to increase the volume between filter & carb.

Reply #11 - 08/21/09 at 16:20:07 Keep in mind that a relatively high resistance filter lets as much air through as a low resistance filter of smaller area. I'm not really sold on small filters with low resistance. There's a double layer foam type that I saw on youtube, looks good.
