Hi I am now the proud owner of an immaculate Susuki Savage! California Yellow 1996 now done 2000 because my Partner rode it back from Kent for me ,his bike is a BMWR1100R so a bit different from his Beast but he said it was ok ! i think he was surprised and he gained afew admirers when he stopped for petrol. Anyway have ridden it (Custard)for the 1st time and i love it!!!so i will be an active member on this site because i need additions and will probably need lots of advice , lol Viv

You've found the right place for help concerning the Savage/S40.

I keep sitting on other bikes and not trading up or out. So far the contenders are the Bonneville and BMWs. But they actually cost money.
The 650 does rather well. If the tires are ancient, please immediately get them replaced. Without reliable tires one can easily end up in a pickle.

Congrats on your new ride!
Right place to be. I'm a new owner for over a week now and hundreds of miles put on my 1998 Savage. Fun bike and lots to offer to make it even a better bike.
Be sure to check out sakara's thread.

Great guy. I got a sissy-bar and pad coming to me from him.
He seems to have a bunch of parts and may be able to help you.
Welcome to Savage-Land.

Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure you are not, in fact, just surrounded by arseholes!
