I have one. Bought it from JC whitney for 20 bucks. It does have a glass packed removeable baffle but most of the fiberglass will be gone after the first blast around the block. Mine was all over my back wheel after about a four mile ride. It is only moderately loud to me. A little louder maybe than my supertrapp with the open end cap.
I took it off because it blew soot all over my back wheel and brake drum. It looked and sounded great to me. I have often thought about having an adapter made and putting it back on. I think it looks much better on my S40 than the supertrapp but the supertrapp fits better.

It really needs an adapter pipe with a slight bend in it to get it away from the back wheel otherwise it blows on the backwheel. It also cannot be mounted to the headpipe with the adapter that comes with it you must purchase this adapter
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Search?storeId=10101&sku=ZX063889&catalogI...
or make one.
I dont know if it is louder than a Jardine. I have never heard one on a Savage

Been thinking of the same muffler..Wanted to ask if anyone has bent their headpipe out a lil?? I want to try it with mine as it needs a chrome job anyway.
Might wreck it, but think I will try it one of these days

I had one of these on mine but took it off cos it was anti social. To fit it, I used some 18 gauge copper sheet wrapped around the end of the header. There was enough play so that the bracket supplied pushed the muffler out from the back wheel. Like I said though, this muffler is LOUD!

As yet, a Bog Standard '87 with a big arse Harley muffler.
