The OEM Engine Guard really doesn't "guard" anything ... it's too small ... even sez on it's packaging, "for decorative purposes only" (or something like that) ... that said, there have been folk here who have attached highway pegs to the OEM Guard.

A much more functional Engine Guard (that would actually protect the Bike, foot controls, etc, in event of a tip-over) for the LS650, is the Wingerline Highway Bar ... which can be ordered on-line.

As was stated above, if you want it to be and "engine guard" it's not the one for you. but if you just want an anchor point for some highway pegs, it works great. AL

Shot them with some black rattlecan paint and they were ready to go. Got them at a bike flea market for a buck a piece so there wasn't any thing to loose if they didn't work.

have a set from jc whitless, were on my oem engine guard for over 2 years when i installed my Ed L forward controlls they conflicted with brake and shift access..sittting in the carriage housepay the postage and you can have em..p.m. me nst monday if interested..
hard to get the most comfortable angle cause the guard is angled out on the vertical axis..

If so, can you flip them up and down with your feet, and would that be a good idea?
