98 Savage oil change

What oil should I use for a 98 Savage. I didn't understood very well the table in the manual, but the average temp around here is about 22 degrees Celsius.
Thanks!

That's about 70' f,...
I'd say regular old 10W-40... avoid any car oils that say energy saving or for older engines...  just regular 10W-40.  Use motorcycle oil, if you worry about that kind of thing,... I don't.

There are many threads, many thoughts, and many theories on this subject. Do a search on oil and you will become well versed on the many aspects of engine lubrication. I did. It was all interesting reading ( its intersting when the life of you engine is at stake).

My conclusion was to use the Shell Rotella T 15-40 oil.
After you do your research you may or may not agree.

maephisto, where are you located?  Canada?  I really like the Esso and Petro-Canada synthetic diesel engine oils.  These 5W-40 or conventional 15W-40 oils are very robust and work great on motorcycle engines in temperate climates.  My mechanic says that the only oil he can count on for clutch slippage is BP's Castrol Syntec, so avoid that one.  I also avoid any automotive 10W-40.

Sure we did. Said we use Rotella T . Had I not read all the info here I would still be happily  using dealer 20-50 at 2x the cost.

I bought nearly 20 gallons of Rotella at wally world back when it was $9.00 a gallon. Down to about 6, gotta find a sale & restock. I wonder what kind of deal I could get on a 50 gallon drum... hmmmm..
Im no stock market genius, so I dont know how to take $9.00 & turn it into $11.00 in 2 years( or maybe thats moron level investing, IDK), but that about 11% /year, & its not taxable, so,.I figure buying up stocks of things like that is a fair investment.I bet oil goes up some more, anyone want to take a piece of that? I bet that in 2 years, the gallon that is $11.00 today will be closer to $15.00 .
