Header gasket...

When I tighten down on the crush gasket, I feel like I bottom out on the stud.
Has anyone tried using two gaskets on the header?... Like maybe the old one (pre-crushed) with a new one on top?

I have tried using two used ones and I think it worked all right. Certainly using only one used one that has been flattened is not gonna do what is intended: seal off around the header pipe to inhibit air in/out and the consequent after-fire.
