Exhaust is taking a leak.

So I am on my way home from work on friday, and notice something is sounding different. Well I finally get a chance to run out there this evening and fire her up. I then take my bare foot and run it under the pipe and sure enough I have a nice strong puff of air coming from the connector. Now here is the question. Is the bolt supposed to be under the oil window so you cannot get to it, or has mine slid forward? OK Ok I am being lazy I should of just pulled the shield off and looked.

It was originally where you could not get to it.
They put the pipe and muffler together then put it on the bike as a single piece.

Thank you for the reply. The funny thing is, as i sat here reading it I pondered upon is it a good thing or a bad thing that the bolt is where it should be.
So knowing what I know now. A Socket is out of the question. Opened ended wrench would be the only way?

Why not just take the whole unit off and do what ever it is you want to do, then put the whole unit back on?
Btw If you do this, tighten the exhaust bolts at the head before tightening the muffler mounts.

I think I opt for simple out of fear of making it worse instead of better. It is my ride to work so if I screw it up I am with out a ride till I get it back together.

Friday mine got loose at the head on the way to work.
I waited a few hours and got to it and kicked it @ the head and hand tightened it.
Sure enough, on the way back home it got loose again.
I kicked it at home and tighetened with sockets. Done.
Cool.
