Greetings from Norfolk, Va.  After many months as a guest, I am privileged to say that I am now a member.  Wow, what a great bunch of people!  After hours of reading here I've gained much respect for the technical expertise of many members (I'm not an engineer but my father was a machinist so some things are in my DNA).  And you've thrown in enough humor to give me an occasional good laugh.  Thanks Everyone!

I have a blue '03 Savage which I've owned for a couple of years and really enjoy.  I've done a couple of mods that I will share with you later.  But right now I'm putting together photos of a manual tensioner I've made which I need to run by some of you engineers before I go for it.  Long story short:  I opened her up, found 17mm, wanted to get back on the road as soon as possible (safely), armed myself with hand tools and available garage "stuff" and began.  I will post the pictures and info hopefully later this evening.

Everyone have a great day and ride safely!

How can a manual tensioner handle thermal expansion and contraction...or is there enough tolerance to permit this amount of slack?

But it says error "5041 KB and cannot be uploaded"......?
