OEM Electrical connector

Ok, so I don't have my savage back yet. But that doesn't mean I can't get ready for it!

I didn't get Ed L's controls on it before I lent it to Corbin. But I don't want to cut the wires to the side stand kill switch. What I want to do is get the OEM connectors and build an extension cable.

But where can I get them? Local dealers are no help, and numerous searches have yeilded little results. If I knew the mfg. of the connector or model description I know some good electronics parts companies that could possibly order them.

Any ideas on finding these green connectors?

Call a salvage yard. You'll still have to have cut wires & use some heat shrink, to build the jumper. You do know that in order to make a slick connection, wires arent laid together, then the ends twisted, but held in a straight line, the stripped ends crossed at the 2/3rds of the way point, then wrapped around each other. The long part of the stripped area, the 2/3rds, wrapped around the 1/3rd length of the other wire. Then the wire is straight, no 1/2" long "spur" poking out, & soldered up, heat shrink on it & if its a 2 wire setup, a fatter piece of heat shrink that will have both wires in it, 1 piece of skinny wrap to insulate the wires from each other & a bigger one to hold the other wire close & insulate from everything else. 3 wires? 2 pieces of skinny wrap & 1 to wrap the group.

I found vintage connector, but both of those sites do not show the connector on my bike, maybe they changed em? I'll get a pic up for an example soon.

V,

I've heard that Electrical Connection is real helpful if you call them concerning connectors.

I've done some other business with them and they are top notch.
