relay
07/29/09 at 13:17:51

got other bike engine together and  fired it up with out the exhaust on,to my amazement it started first turn, and then ooh sh1t, I didn't  see the indicator relay hanging down and the flame from the exhaust gave it a bit of a toasting before I noticed it.

I remember somewhere in the posts of something about other indicator relay that would replace the original Suzuki one at half the cost but can't find it would anybody know, also I found a three pin universal 12 volt. 18--23wat  indicator relay on ebay, does anybody know if that would be suitable,,,cheers

likely ok on the 18-23w - I think the new one I put on the '95 was a 25watt where as the one that froze was 20w - if I remember correct

why buy on ebay?  You should be able to find a turn signal relay/flasher fairly cheap at any auto parts store.  Might even find one that will have the right connector.

living on an Island there's only one store that sells what I call junk,, bolt on bits for boy racers, polish and cleaners, wireless's and DVD's and fancy wheel nuts along with bits of funny shaped plastic at a fearful price. Every time I went in there they never had what I need but they will order it for me, and charge me for the service over and above the cost of the item,,,so I don't go in there anymore, if you have a bike they don't want to know,,but they can talk hours of drivel and cr@p about cars, absolutely pathetic  listening to them,,I think most of them are brain dead or mental defectives

I can understand not having a motorcycle shop on that island, but no auto parts stores ... at all?  Weird.

i tried several auto shops to find a relay with matching connectors...don't bother!

get an electronic relay cut off the old connector and put on some female spades. works just as well!!

that's what i did thanks to the advice from some seniors on here. experience will always win!!

First one is. Second one might be. Any one should do. With three-prong, all you have to do is provide a separate ground.
