Pilot Jet Question
07/17/09 at 08:09:51

Has anyone done any testing to come up with some sort of equivalence between pilot jet size and screw turns?

For example:
52.5 @ 3 turns  "is equivalent to"  52.5 w/ bleed holes @ 1 turns
52.5 w/ bleed holes @ 3 turns  "is equivalent to"  55 @ 1 turn

Or is there no overlap?

For example:
52.5 @ 3.5 turns  "is leaner than"  52.5 w/ bleed holes @ 0.5 turn
52.5 w/ bleed holes @ 3.5 turns  "is leaner than"  55 @ 0.5 turn

Bump once for feedback.

Diamond Jim has come the closest to documenting this with his Progressive Jetting Guide.

One additional question.
I know there's a "maximum" number of recommended pilot mixture screw turns out (around 3). Is there a "minimum"?

Thanks.
