My bike has 2600 miles on it ,when I look at the pads while on the bike ,one side seems ok the other seems like there is nothing there . Do you have to take them off to tell ?I probably need new pads .Thanks

Just get new pads and be done with it, they don't cost that much.

The stock pads wear fast. Mine were just about gone at 3,000 miles. You probably need some, just change them out it's pretty easy to do.

Because the caliper is binding. When you renew the pads, clean the caliper slides so everything moves smoothly. There is one piston on our calipers. The piston pushes one pad against the disc and pulls the other half of the caliper to press its pad against the other side of the disc.
Get EBC FA106 pads, about $28.
