Fork oil change?  Emulators?  R. Shocks?

10,500 miles.  New bike to me.  I have been looking at the service manual.  Leaves many things to "inspection."  Well.  I'm not all that sure how to inspect many things.  This machine is softer than I expected.  Maybe that's a result of it being a cruiser.  Or that I usually ride unsprung bicycles.

Nevertheless:

Rear shocks - They feel fine, I think.  But I don't know any better.  The bike came with the shocks at 5, essentially making it a hardtail with my weight.  I have them set at 2.  The softness seems to match the front OK.  How do I check the dampers?  They can't last forever.

Fork:   Seems soft.  Maybe it's supposed to be.  Or maybe I should pull the things apart, measure the springs and replace the oil.  A primitive system.  But maybe it's more than sufficient.  I read about cartridge emulators.  Have I excess concern, or am I thinking reasonably?

I'm perfectly satisfied at leaving things alone, if that's what's appropriate at this mileage.  Or if it's appropriate, I'll pull apart the fork and change the oil to . . . .  well.  The magic amsoil?  I don't know exactly.  And I could check the spring length.

Suggestions?  I prefer not to work, but I like to take care of things.

Thanks much

Change your oil, put 15wt in.  It's been said that it looses it's viscosity after a bit.
