How much is a UFO and where could i get one? do i have to upgrade my stock carb first?

The UFO cannot be used in a stock carb; it's made for the Mikuni VM roundslide and as I mentioned might be adaptable to the Amal Mark II since it has a similar slide.

The engine was still at stock compression of 8.5:1 and the exhaust port just slightly opened on the outside and the engine produced 45 hp at the rear wheel.  A stock engine has about 25 at the rear wheel.
Performance runs produced 0-60 mph times of 4.9 sec consistently.  It could have done much better if I could have kept the front wheel near the pavement.  90% of the run was in 1st gear and hitting 60mph just after shifting to 2nd gear.

Curious, were these runs done with the stock cam or one of the performance cams? Stage 1 or 2?

I purchased a 95 Savage on Craigslist about a month ago - it was bone stock and the paint had faded to a rosy pink from sitting in the previous owners yard for God knows how long.

The muffler was rusted and full of holes - it rattled and whistled like crazy.  The chrome on the head pipe was gone.

I bought a 18" piece of muffler pipe at the auto parts store and clamped it on the header and ran it around the block - once.  It was so loud, all the dogs in the neighborhood went wild and people came running from their homes - it was way too loud!

I cut 4 inches off the end of the pipe and fabricated it into a baffle and hammered it back into the end of the pipe.  I then stuffed the pipe with tightly rolled chicken wire with a double strip of 1 inch heat wrap woven through the middle of the baffle.

I painted the pipe with high heat silicone paint and it looked pretty good and sounded great.  I went ahead and wrapped the header and pipe with tape and sprayed it with another 3 coats of silicone.

Total cost $55.00 with the muffler clamp.  Would have been twenty bucks if I didn't wrap it.

The goal is to make mine faster and Handle like a sports bike.

Performance. Mikuni 40mm teflon coated flat slide pumper carb.

Ported and polished head

Full exhaust

Cam if I decide not to turbo it.

Handling. well, lots of stuff. wheels, suspension, frame bracing.

The stock carb is designed and built to fullfill the emmission requirements of the EPA; it is made for fuel economy and minimal exhaust emmisions, not performance.  It has limited performance capability.
The various carbs designed & built for performance deliver more fuel/air mix to the cylinder and thus create more power.

Typical hot rod thing; take off the lazy factory 2bbl carb/manifold and replace it with the hot 4 bbl setup, replace the cam and throw on a set of headers.  Been goin that way for half a century.

After wheel spacers and machining the stem, then yes.  320mm floating rotor with 4 pot radial caliper or 6 pot caliper.

I just opened up the exhaust port this morning and I could feel the bike was a hell of a lot snappier, not much better in the high rpm's but it noticed the 0-60 was a hella faster.
