So how would i come to aquire a set of extended fork tubes, and if anyone has done this, what lengths are you using and any recommendations? also does the savage use 38mm diameter tubes?

Yes 38 mm on the savage.

I am making a set of custom triples to take 43mm tubes on a 189.5 C/C with a 2.5 inch offset from the stem. It would be near identical to the stock savage triples except for the 43mm.
I would then slap my KX250 dirt bike front end into them.
I would use regular KX250 stem and triples etc, but I just fitted them over the weekend and they clobber the tank, not even 1/2 the stock steering sweep.

I got pics - you send me email ID I'll send it, I dunno how to post.
But the KX250 forks are a good 12 inches longer than the stock savage. I dunno how to put pics up in this site.

BTW I will sell a full on extended system complete with custom triples with a 6-7 degree rake in them for ~700 bucks and shipping and I would like some stock parts back - namely the lower triple and stem. And remember this is a 21 inch 90 wide front tire in an aluminum spoked dirt bike wheel, a massive 43 mm fork leg set and custom made raked triples that take harley risers, the savge headlight and fork stops and of course the neck lock works also.

All you need to turn it into a chopper. Oh, I could drill it instead for savage risers too and you put the s40 bars with risers if you prefer.

Cool.
Srinath.

That's why I created this thread in the tech/ref section.

I thought forking guys were not going to do em anymore ?

Anyway I am getting pics and I am getting raked triples made, just bought 100 bucks worth of 7075 ...

The stock rake with the 12 inch over ones I got will make the bike lean too much on the stand among other stupid looking things.
I htink a 7-9 degree rake is almost a must for the 12 over I am running.
Cool.
