are the chrome brackets(one near the foot peg and the other a little further down) are they important? i want to header wrap and want to know if i can ditch them. LET ME KNOW!!!

The one by the footpeg offers a some support to the exhaust system. he other one is the heat shield + headto muffler joint cover and is pretty much aesthetic.

You can take it off, but you are probably gonna burn your shoe.  Also, you will need a spacer or washer under the acorn nuts when you remove the heat shield, to be able to tighten down the foot rest assembly.

I've never used header wrap.  But they do say it holds the heat in, right?  So maybe you won't burn your shoe. Undecided

i might leave the one on the peg but the lower "muffler cover" that goes over the joint is being stubborn, the little bolt and clamp are rusted....may have to ditch it!!!!

i can't wait for someone to say "y would u do that to your nice bike?" haahaha
