In Portland how could you not love it? Can't wait to get over there with my bike.

So it seems VistaCruise is the prevailing choice.

"Thanks, john. Any recommendations on brand? "

Sorry Yumi,
The throttle lock was an after market add on that was on the bike when I got it.
The cruise control systems were factory and were just like you find on your car.

Vista Cruise is a friction style throttle lock.  If adjusted properly, you can turn the throttle both ways while it is engaged.

I use a "Flip-a-Lever" (also a friction style throttle lock), but they are no longer made.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

The throttle lock is just what the name says, it locks the throttle in position.  Really lock is too strong a term, it is friction based and sort of keeps the throttle grip where you put it.  You can still give her more gas or roll off a little.  This is not like cruise control on a car, where up hills or down the speed is constant.  If you go up a hill you will more than likely slow down, unless you give her more gas.

It is certainly not a "set it and forget it" kind of thing and it does not cut off if you hit the brake.  Sometimes I have noticed I have slowed down a little, it could be the lock slipping, a hill, the wind or just one of those things.  I do not necessarily use it all the way to wherever I am going, but it is good to give my hand and arm a break every so often.

Having said all of that, I really like mine and would hate to give it up.
