The "big picture"
06/15/09 at 23:47:18

Yesterday I realized that I didn't have any current pics of the bike since I did most of my mods.  At least pics that weren't closeups of the mods themselves.  So, because I will jump at any excuse I can get to go out and ride, I went and found me a suitable scenic area and snapped a nice "poser shot" of the bike with the new exhaust and highway pegs.  Nothing informative here, but like parents with a new baby, I just can't resist showing off my handiwork! Yeah, I should've pulled the brass plug sooner.  On the plus side, it doesn't seem to have gotten any worse since I changed the muffler, so I guess that means the tuning can't be too far off. Huh

Oh, and thanks! Cheesy

Grin Thanks!
As to what brand the highway pegs are, haven't got a clue.  Salvage yard special, with not a single identifying mark on 'em.  The mounting plate is just a wee bit off center on the bars, so I had to drill an extra hole to get it all mounted.  Better pics here:

They're ok, but may eventually slap some different pegs on the ends for comforts' sake.

Nice! What sort of lower heat shield is that, and did you cut it to match the muffler?

The heat shield is from the same bike salvage shop I got the muffler and highway pegs from.  They have all the stuff the local H-D dealer swaps off their bikes, so I assume it's from a Harley.  Has a 1/4 circle cutout near 1 end, looks like the shield off of some 2 into 1 pipes they had.  they had one about like it only longer, but this one works just fine. Smiley
Oh, and didn't have to cut it any.
Here's the best closeup pic I have of the shield, you can kinda see the cutout I was talking about, to the rear of the shield:

Cool, I may have to rummage through the salvage yard too and see what they have for a dyna muffler (probably a much shorter shield).  I got the muffler from a junkyard and it was well worth the hour or so of digging.
