Any suggestions on what I can put on the fuel tank cushions to allow the tank to slide on and off easier?

Mmmmmkay... this may sound strange, but bear with me...
It won't help in removal, because the stuff's water soluble, but it would help in installation.  Drumroll please....

KY Jelly...

Hang on, don't laugh too hard yet! Roll Eyes  I used to do irrigation work, and we used it for putting gasketted pipe together for the simple reason that it's slippery as all get out, water soluble, and won't damage rubber (at least it better not! Shocked)

That's my contribution, now lets hear some humerous comments!  I need a good chuckle, and I know you all won't dissappoint! Wink

Don't believe John_D!....  It's a trap!...
When I tried explaining to the checkout girl that my KY Jelly was for lubing the mounts on my tank, she called the manager in disgust,.... and he called the police in fear,..... they called the FBI in terror,... and after much waterboarding by the CIA, during which I confessed to molesting Elvis's poodle and assassinating that guy on Love Boat,...they locked me up in here....
....and I've been stuck here ever since.... Huh

Trust me,... stick with the vasoline.... Huh

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Grin  I laughed enough, if anyone else was here they'd be seriously concerned! Huh

That brings up a question I always had:  What did the clerks think when my nice kindly looking older gentleman of a boss came up to the checkout with multiple tubes of the stuff? Shocked  I can only imagine the conversations between employees after he left! Cheesy

... or, if you do decide to use the KY, don't use the stuff that gets hot,... it'll turn your pipe blue....
or was that the stuff that gets cold?.....  Undecided
Just don't use either of those... use the regular stuff...

Your exhaust pipe,.... turn blue... on your bike.  I mean... the exhaust...... Huh

Ummmm, yeah, after reading that last post, I'm going to have to agree with ya there. Huh  Even the Vaseline leaves way too much room for misinterpretation.  I mean, "Vaseline" and "mount" used in the same sentence?!  Just a recipe for disaster if you ask me. Roll Eyes

well usually if u smack it a couple of times and a little hair pulling there's no need 4 lube.....see problem solved?

speaking of scaring cashiers, last week i was @ walmart around 3am(only thing open) and i bought mountain dew, a filter wrench, a lime green paint, a bandana and some "rain coats"....i'd imagine that didn't look 2 good!  Shocked
