It Has Begun (my first mods)

Been collecting a few things since the winter, and since I am away from home for the summer, this is the first weekend I've had the chance to do some work and go out for a nice long ride.

Saddlebags (thanks SimonTuffGuy)
Bag Supports (made myself, metal round stock, hammer, vice)
Handlebars (Schoch's HD outside Stroudsburg PA)
Sportster Muffler / plug punched out (Thanks to my buddy Vinny)
Air Cleaner (removed old piping but not the box, used a generic free flow air filter media to make my own)
Carb Re-Jet (thanks Lancer)

About 5 total hour of work for Vinny and I, which was mostly listening to tunes and bs'n instead of wrenching.

Still have to iron out the carb tuning, but we ran out of time

First Muffler option: some old Ironhead pipes:

The real deal after buttoning it all back up:

Vin and his newly converted to 1200cc Sportster

Thanks

The handlebars actually make the bike so much more comfortable to ride.

Haven't had time, between work and rain, to do any more tweeking to the carb.  Runs nice at the low/mid range tho, so I think I'm close.

The big question is: Whats next?

What to do next, isn't that always the question?  Grin
Sometime before next summer, I want to get a backrest going on mine.  Not sure yet whether to try and get one of the Suzuki ones, or come up with something on my own.  Guess I'll just have to wait and see if a stroke of genius turns up before some disposable income does. Roll Eyes
