Greetings from new forum member/s40 owner
06/10/09 at 12:37:10
Greetings all - just introducing myself. I sealed the deal today on a white '07 s40. This is my first motorcycle, and I'm pretty excited about it. I take possession of it tomorrow morning, and hopefully will have it plated, and a maiden voyage underway, by afternoon.
I started lurking here last night, and this looks like a great forum - enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. I'm sure it will be my home away from home in the months to come, as I get acquainted with my new ride!
Cheers.

Welcome! You've found a very helpful and friendly bunch of folks, as I've found out first hand.
If this is your first bike, is this also your first time riding? If so, I strongly recommend taking a MSF course, if you haven't already. My Savage was my first ride, and I'd hate to think where I'd be now without the course.
Again, welcome, and ride safe!

I've got a few hours of lessons in at a driving school, taught by a former MSF instructor, so I'm getting some good guidance. I'm gonna continue with a couple lessons on my own bike, and I'll definitely take the 3 day course when I can - I know everyone raves about it. I've also been riding a scooter for 8 or 9 months, so I've developed
some
two wheel street-smarts... Thanks for the warm welcome! Looking forward to it.

Update: got her plated today and out for a spin, despite some drizzle here in NY - what a beautiful ride!
Very easy to handle, looks great, sounds great, I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship

WoOT freah meat
j/k welcome. Please remember to use the search function first to answer questions you might have. I along with many others have made the noob mistake of asking questions that have been answered a millions times. Don't get me wrong the people on this site will regurgitate it again and again cause
they are awsome
but in the effort of being a good neighbor try to check if it's been discussed before. If not, or if you have a new viewpoint, just shoot. Most here are more than happy to help in a way possible, including myself.

Definately, welcome. Also make use of the Technical section, which has been sorted according to subject.

Good for you! I never let a little rain stop me from going for a spin, since I live in the lovely (wet!) Northwest. Now a
lot
of rain is a different story!

Thanks all for the welcome and well wishes!
Btw, I just realized there's a topic dedicated to introductions in the "cafe" section - I don't know how heavily modded this forum is, but this thread probably could/should be moved there?
Again, thanks - more storms tomorrow in NY, but I'll be ridin'! At the vey least, I gotta go gas up...

Welcome! That white looks sharp with those bags. It's a classic look. Are those risers/bars a standard option?

They look like the stock drag bars that are on my '08.

Thanks, yes I'm quite sure it's a totally stock '07. Previous owner added the bags and the windshield, which I like a lot. One thing I really need and want to add asap is the passenger backrest.
