I want at least 12 inchers on my project bike. My dilemma is where do I find control cables and such?

Member Lancer.  PM him.  It's a pretty expensive mod to do 12s.  Lucky if you can it done right for under $250.

OK

Let's say I have the standard OEM drag bars as on Mk I 4speed bikes, and would like something a leeetle bit wider...

How much can I stretch my luck without needing new cables ?

I don't really know how wide the standard drag bars are, but I would really like something 1", maybe 2" wider.

Makes the bike more responsive, especially in slow city traffic.

Cool

where is the best place (ok cheapest) to buy 10 inch apes ?
i understand by rerouting the cables from a buckhorn style bar the stock cables will work ? what do you do put the cables over the bars and directly under the tank ?
close up pics would be awesome.
thanks

My 98 had the stock buckhorn "pullback" style handlebars.  I ordered the 10" mini apes (really like 9.5") from an Ebay store called Bikerhaven I believe.  They worked perfectly and I didnt have to change my stock cables at all.  I did re-route the throttle cable and clutch cable through the front end to get maybe another inch oh play.  It worked perfectly and my hands are right above shoulder height (I'm 6'3" so I'm pretty tall).  Hope this helps anyone.
